Website Lets You Trade Smiles

It’s no secret that the Internet can breed loneliness. So can living alone. So seniors, why not use the Internet to feel more connected? We know what you’re thinking, “Facebook, Twitter, email…blah, blah, blah, I’ve heard it all before.”

This is true. But what you probably haven’t heard about is a new website called Two of Us. This site lets users exchange smiles with strangers in a quasi-social experiment that hopes to brighten your day.

Two of Us is easy to use as long as you have a webcam. Simply take a photo of yourself sporting your best smile and upload it to the site. Your good cheer will be sent to another user looking for a little pick-me-up, while you’ll receive a great, big smile from a happy stranger.

The site doesn’t involve conversation or identifiable information, but we nevertheless think it’s a great way to connect with others. And don’t worry, the site has – ahem – security measures in place to ensure that you receive a smile and not a picture of something else.
