Survey: 25% of Americans Turn to Smartphones for Web Surfing

Smartphones are starting to pose a threat to computers if the results of the latest Pew Internet Project are to be believed. The survey notes that 25 percent of Americans claim they do most of their web surfing on their smartphones, as opposed to on their computers.

The survey also states 87 percent of smartphone owners use their devices to check the Internet and their email. Nearly 68 percent of this group does this on a daily basis.

This number is likely to increase as 4G networks become stronger and more widespread. This would bring about stronger signals and faster download times to many.
