Study: iPhone Users Really Like Their Games

A new study by the Nielsen research group says that iPhone users play games for twice as long as other smartphone users. Nielsen noted that Games is the most popular category of apps downloaded by iPhone users, with 64 percent of users downloading at least one game.

Not only are game apps more popular with iPhone owners, but they’re played much more frequently as well. Apple enthusiasts spend an average of 14.7 hours per month playing games on their iPhones. Android users only spent 9.3 hours. It drops drastically from there, with Windows users spending 4.7 hours per month on games, and Blackberry users logging 4.5 hours.

This definitely proves the popularity of smartphone game apps, though the survey goes on to note that 93 percent of its participants would pay for a mobile game app.
