Panasonic’s new Lumix 3D1 digital 3D camera has two lenses and shoots in stereo 3D. It’s a pocket-sized, 12 megapixel camera that can shoot stills in 2D or 3D, as well as 1080/60i video in 2D or 3D. And, one of the most unique options we’ve heard of, it can shoot full 2D HD with one lens and shoot and shoot full 12 megapixel stills with the other. This can be really useful when you’re wanting to shoot video at an event and still have high resolution images you can use from the same event. Pulling a frame of video won’t do in those situations, and you don’t need two cameras to do it.

It has optical image stabilization, photo frame rates of 4 fps with full autofocus and 8 fps without autofocus. Quad processors and Panasonic’s “Venus Engine” handle everything quickly, so the camera is very responsive. Intelligent auto and some amazing night photography features make this a sort of cross between a jack-of-all-trades and a one-trick pony, and a very good one, at that.
