Are you adventurous? If you are, and want to record all the fun in photos or full HD video, the Nikon COOLPIX AW100 is worth a look. It’s waterproof to 33 feet, able to easily withstand a 5 foot drop, with built-in GPS and eCompass and controls designed to work even with gloves. Freezeproof down to 14 degrees F, too. The eCompass feature works with Google Maps to show you exactly where you are, and will even geotag your images.

The 16 megapixel, CMOS sensor is designed to perform really well in low light, so dusk shots, pictures around the campfire, etc. are possible even without using the built-in flash.  Full 1080p video gives you the ability to capture all the action to play back later, and there’s HDMI out to go directly to your HDTV to recall your adventures for friends and family.

The AW100 is available in blue, black or orange.

  • Water-proof, Shock-proof, Freeze-proof: ruggedly built for reliable and comfortable outdoor operation. Water-proof to a depth of 33 feet. Shockproof if dropped from 5 ft, operating temperature down to 14 degrees F
  • 16 effective megapixel CMOS sensor ideal for low light shooting and fast operation
  • Full HD (1080p) movie with stereo sound and movie-record button that enables one-touch recording (HDMI mini connector equipped)
  • GPS and e-Compass functions
  • Points of Interest (locations, landmarks, etc.) and location information (latitude and longitude) can be added to your photos
