Overview: The Kodak Playtouch Zi10 is a handheld high-definition camcorder that replaces the Kodak Zi8.It features a wide angle zoom lens, 5 megapixel stills, and four different choices for video formats. The top is 1080p, followed by 720p, 720px60 frames per second (good for slow motion, e.g. capturing your kids or grandkids swinging a bat at a baseball game), and WVGA, a wide standard definition format that allows for smaller files.

The controls are mostly on the touch screen and are easy to find and use. The built-in USB connector makes downloading videos to your computer (Mac or PC) a snap. The built-in microphone records in mono, but the headphone jack also doubles as an external microphone jack and can use stereo microphone input.

There’s a “Safe Mode”, which lets you hand over your camera to kids or others that lets them shoot and review videos, but locks out share, edit and delete functions so none of your videos are accidentally deleted.

There are some editing tools right in the camera. There’s a “share” button that allows you to tag your videos, so when you connect the camera to your computer, it can automatically upload the videos to Facebook, Kodak Gallery, YouTube, flickr, email and more.

It’s available in Black, Chrome, Orange, Blue or Magenta.
