A survey carried out by YouGov shows more Brits received Kindles than any other device. About one in 40 British citizens received an e-reader this Christmas, with 92 percent of them unwrapping Amazon Kindles. This totaled about 1.3 million e-readers, and more than 1.2 million Kindles, under the trees.
Tablets were also popular gifts, though not at nearly the same rate as e-readers. About 640,000 tablets were given as Christmas presents this year in Britain, according to YouGov, and 72 percent were Apple iPads.
No big surprise there. E-readers’ notable dominance over tablet computers was surprising, however. Makes us wonder what those Brits will be buying next Christmas.
