Thanks to technology, families with members in different cities or even around the world can be together for the holidays. And they are doing just that. With so many computers, smartphones, tablets and even HDTV sets coming with built-in or attachable cameras and apps like Skype, Facetime, Google Chat are making it possible for everyone to be together at the holidays. Work schedules, expense, and other reasons for people to not be able to travel aren’t stopping anyone. Grandparents often get to see their grandkids now for the first time via video calling.
Seniors are using video chat to get together virtually when it’s difficult or too far to travel. Some use it for daily get-togethers to talk.
