The new generation of network technology, the 4G network, is slowly being unveiled throughout the country.The 4G network will enhance the smartphone experience by increasing speed and essentially turning the smart phone into a pocket-sized media center. With 4G, full-length movies can be downloaded in seconds, high-definition live broadcasts can be viewed and video chat will be possible just about anywhere. Dropped calls may also be a thing of the past with this new network.
However, creating the 4G network remains a huge undertaking. Old towers throughout the country need to be retrofitted with fiber optics to make it possible.
